The research problem is how to influence the method of problem solving todribbling a basketball in grade VIIIA SMPN1 Pontianak. The purpose of research todetermine the effect of problem solving method to basketball dribbling VIIIA gradestudents SMPN1 Pontianak. The research method is a method of experimentation withform pre-experimental design. The population in this study were students of class VIIIin SMPN1 Pontianak totaled 284 students. In this study do purposive samplingtechnique that is taking all students of class VIII A, amounting to 35 students. analysisof data by t-test analysis. The results obtained by the average pretest average 10.97and 15.08 posttest (an increase of 4.11). test analysis of the influence of the value ttest:29 is greater than the value table = 2.032, meaning that the hypothesis is acceptedmeans there is a method of problem solving influence on dribbling a basketball ingrade VIIIA SMPN1 Pontianak. The percentage increase of 37.74%. Based on theseresults it can be concluded that the method of problem solving has a positive influenceon the improvement of dribbling a basketball.
